I learn everyday of my life - Tuesday Topics

HEEEY! So this week's Tuesday Topics is four things that you have learned outside of school. I kind of  feel that this may be a little vague because I am constantly learning new things and I have been out of high school for 12 years and out of college for 6. I like to research things, and am always seeking out new things to do so I guess I can give this a whirl.

This blog has helped me learn a lot! For example....in ninth grade I took a C++ class and honestly I had zero concept of what I was doing. It was sooo confusing! Now, Google and other blogs have made formatting, HTML coding and all other things to help form my blog (and my new and improved layout *coming soon*) to make it look more like a professional blog. I have also learned what does and doesn't work for my writing style and have come to accept patience in this little world called blogging! I have learned to reach out to people even when you may be scared because most people are kind and just want to follow along!

College prepared me for my career....somewhat. A lot of what I know now I have learned from in field experience. Between codes and all things that I described over here about my job, this field is constantly and evolving, making every project different from the next. You have to be well versed in dealing with all types of personalities as well. Knowing a little about a persons background makes decisions easier and quicker.

I have learned that you don't have to be popular. Having a lot of friends, or acquaintances doesn't make your life better. It actually makes your life more complicated and stressful. Having that core group of family or friends that is there for you no matter what is all that matters. I knew this long ago, but my best friend is and will always be my hubby. He is always playing in my court and has our best interests at hand at all times!

I have taught myself how to do many crafting things, just by reading wonderful blogs, or tutorials. My mom taught me how to sew, cross stitch and crochet, but I like to teach myself new techniques as well. Also, I  pass along any new tips or tricks along to her when we get together for our big craft weekends. I'd also love to learn how to make furniture. It's on my bucket list!

Side note: I am addicted to my DVR, but am highly critical about the things we watch! We are considering getting rid of cable all together, but then the Dexter finale season premiered and so did the series premiere Ray Donovan on Showtime. Tia and Tamara and Big Brother are back....so it might have to wait until after summer! We watched the premiere of Ray Donovan last night and I will have to say it was WAY too slow! I get the idea that we have to catch you up on the characters, but a full episode on character development is just way too much! Hopefully next weeks episode is better!
