Things I've Never Done

The post bank has run a little dry. I guess I have focused a lot on my marriage and our relationship and also with trying to start our family that we haven't been doing much in the way of great blog content. I mean I could write about the fact that we have Netflixed Man, Woman, Wild; Breaking Bad, and am catching up on Homeland and Masters of Sex, but honestly.....we haven't gone out...we haven't seen any movies....really our Halloween party that we went to was the most exciting thing we really have done. Not really an inspiring life to write about huh? I will have some DIY's coming up, but truly that's about it. I came across a site that had a HUGE idea bank of blog posts for such occasions. So what am I going to write about today? Things I have done and haven't done in my life.

I've Never:

1. Seen Jaws the movie.....just been to the terrible part of the tour ride at Universal Studios. It has just never interested me!

2. Liked the taste of salsa.....it's just weird!

3. Flown first class. What's it like with all that leg room?

4. Experienced a White Christmas

5. Changed a flat tire. That's what AAA is for! Le Duh!

6. Bungee Jumped/Sky Dived.....that's too crazy for me!

7. Understood the concept of Twitter.

8. Rode in a race car....sounds like fun. I purchased D a ride in one for our anniversary once. He said it was a blast!

9. Seen the 8 wonders of the World. On the bucket list it goes!

10. Been on television

11. Scuba dived....want to!

12. Visited all 50 states, or all 7 continents.

13. Been good at math.....I'm awful at it! Basic math, not the same thing....I am talking algebra and geometry.....things I have not used since school.

14. Broken any bones.....that I have knowledge of....my pinky will not straighten and it never has....so there is that.

15. Been with another man other than my husband.

But.... I have....

1. Learned to play multiple instruments; Piano and Guitar

2. Fallen off a horse.....I was little I bounced back....however I did have the biggest bruise from hip to rib.

3. Gotten a college degree! E=MC2!

4. Been hung off the side of a building by my feet.

5. Jumped off a building into a pool, changed my mind mid-way and tried to return to said roof....only to miss and fall straight to the concrete.....my ankle was really not happy with me.

6. Been to seven different countries so far!

7. Seen every episode of The Newlywed's, The Hills, and The Jersey Shore.....no I am not proud of it!

This or That?

What day is it???? It's HUMP DAY! Well, I know for a lot of my readers.....east coast and abroad....its almost Thursday. Anyways....this week has been completely nuts and it's been really hard to get in a decent post.....and today is no different. I saw this floating around the blogosphere and thought that it would be fun to participate.

Vacationing in Florida or vacationing in NYC: Well, this is kinda hard because I have been to Florida many many times...so I think that a vacation to NYC is in order!
iPhone or Droid: iPhone....I had a Blackberry and honestly WHY did I wait so long to switch?! The iPhone tap dances all over the crackberry!
NSYNC or Backstreet Boys: Ohhhh....tough one. I loved both of them, but NSYNC's music was way catchier and easier to dance to!
Being forced to delete Facebook or being forced to delete Twitter: I still really don't get Twitter....I keep Facebook just to keep up with family. So probably Twitter.
Fireball or Miller Lite: Fireball cause I can mix it with things like my Whiskey Apple Pie cocktail!
Full House or Family Matters: Full House wins over Family Matters!
Dumbledore or Gandalf: Dumbledore! I seriously bawled at the end of the Half Blood Prince! I was SO SAD! He turned into the father figure and I couldn't take it!
Dying Easter eggs or Carving pumpkins: Pumpkins are a pain! But I don't know how to hard boil eggs so I guess carving pumpkins wins.
NFL or NCAAF: NFL.....BUT we have canceled cable so I don't have to watch any of it! YAY!
A hangover forever or sobriety forever: I am too old to handle hangovers.....I typically choose to stay sober as it is because I hate feeling like garbage for the entire next day. Red wine hangovers are the WORST.
January or July: Nothing really happens in January so July. At least there is lots of things to participate in, regardless of the heat.
Hannah Montana or Miley Cyrus: Miley, post Hannah but pre twerking nonsense at the VMA's. I seriously was speechless during that entire spectacle!
Shark Week or Fashion Week: Shark week hands down. I am fascinated by those creatures!
Fresh Prince of Bel-Air or Saved by the Bell: Saved! Who didn't want to be Kelly and date Zach?! I mean honestly. I also wanted to be as smart as Jessie....Screech however was annoying!
Britney or Christina: It's Britney Bitch!!! She was/is the Queen of Pop. I don't care if she lip syncs because lady puts on an awesome show!
Burrito or Burrito Bowl: Burrito. I love refried beans, meat and cheese in a warm tortilla!
Reading blogs on your phone or reading blogs on your computer: Computer, because I love to see peoples pages that they took time to create. I read on my phone, but everything doesn't load and I would just prefer to see it on a larger screen.
Angelina or Jennifer: Jennifer. She's funny, smart and beautiful.....seriously Brad, you missed out! Jenn....congrats on dodging the bullet!
Doug Funny or The Rugrats: I never really was into those shows..... Ren and Stimpy!
An open mouth chewer or a heavy breather: UGH....both irritate me sooo much, but I guess loud breathing when I'm trying to sleep is worse!
There you go....not an exciting post I know....but come back tomorrow for The Boys Behind the Blog! The hubbs will be back with a couple of more questions to answer!

Seriously I Hate Spiders!

Happy Wednesday, and a Happy Hump Day. We are officially half way through the week. I have a couple of things to post, but they require editing of photos, that I don't have access to right now. So, I figured I could do a post from this list I posted back in December.

"Describe 3 legitimate fears you have and explain how they became fears."

Fear one. Heights - I know that I am so not alone in this fear, but I was watching the Big Bang Theory and the character Sheldon made a good point when he stated in the episode "Are you afraid of heights? Or falling to your doom?" I loved this and it really got me to examine my fear all together. To answer his question, I am both! I can be on top of a high building, enclosed with no way of falling and I will still get a racing heart and sweaty palms. Case in point, the Eiffle Tower in Las Vegas. Half the size of the original, you take an elevator up and are enclosed in a steel viewing room.....I had a mild freak out looking out the windows. Guess I can never go up in the real one! I also fear falling to my doom, hence my aversion to roller coasters because that is the SOLE purpose. To make you lose your stomach for a thrill. Not my cup o' tea! Honestly I cannot think of any one particular incident that made me afraid of heights, because I liked to do things as a child. Neither of my parents were afraid, or at least they didn't act like it. I can however pinpoint a memory where I just might have cultivated this fear. It was when my dad threw me in the corner! To clarify, the abridged version, he didn't throw me in the corner, on purposed. We had a ritual at night where he would take me to my room for bed and without turning on the lights would throw me from my door into bed, then we would read a story until it was moms turn to tuck me in......well one day my mom cleaned my room and, because she was unaware of this ritual, moved my bed to the complete other side of the room. Needless to say I was left in a crumpled mess on the floor and my dad was a wreck. Well its safe to say that ritual was shot to s#^t. Haha. I am taking many steps towards overcoming this fear. In February, when we went to Catalina Island we decided to do the zip line, and even though I was TERRIFIED I still did it and my hubby was so proud that I conquered my fear!

Fear two. I absolutely hate bugs. Any bug that creepy crawls. *shudder* Especially spiders. I know it's not something that I should be afraid of, but honestly they do! I know what your thinking....."they are more afraid of you" or "your bigger than they are" seriously, I don't care. If I see a spider on my ceiling I keep a closeful watch on it until we can dispose of it properly! The hubby just shakes his head and kindly takes care of the problem. Last year we had a major ant issue and I would have nightmares that they were in our bed crawling on me. I just don't like bugs. Give me reptiles, or any other beast. Honestly, if this video ever happened to me, I would probably have a heart attack! I saw this on a comedy video show, and literally screamed at the tv and tossed my hands up in the air like it fell on me. The people we were with looked at me like I was a little looney!

Fear three: death. I guess I fear it because it is a certainty, and I am not ready to leave this world. There are so many things I want to do and I need many MANY years to do it. The loss of my father was an eye opening experience. One to show that you must live each day to it's fullest. Never take the people in your life for granted as there is no telling how long we will be with you. I also hope that there is an afterlife. My faith tells me that there is, but sometimes the skeptic in me is curious. I guess that is something that I will have to leave until the time comes, and practice my faith in hopes that I can make it to the golden gate when the time is here.

Sorry to leave the post a little heavy! But there it is, my three greatest fears....well at least the ones I have right now. Hehe. What are your fears? Have you overcome any?

The ABC's of Me!

Happy Friday Everyone! So the hubby and I are going on vacation for a week starting tomorrow night. I will be busy cleaning, laundry and packing tonight and tomorrow, but I am going to try and schedule some posts for next week. I have the update to our Catalina trip almost ready to go, another craft post, and a Coffee and Conversations link up on Monday. I am going to TRY TRY TRY to get it all in before we hop on our red-eye tomorrow night! Wish me luck. Anyways I thought that I would share a little bit about me for my new followers! Yay! Welcome to my site! Here we go!

The ABC's of Me!

A: Available or Married?
I am as married as they come! The hubby and I have been together for 12 years and will celebrate our 6th wedding anniversary later this year! Not going anywhere!

B: Book
*Blush* I am currently in the middle of several books. I am about ¼ of the way through Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I know I know. I saw all of the movies first then decided that I needed to read the books. The other one that I am about half way through is “The Girl Who Played with Fire” by Steig Larsson. I am really trying to get into it, but I just can’t seem to. Anyone else think that he was a little too descriptive in his writing style and leaves nothing to the imagination? Just my opinion. Also I started The Hunger Games…..I need to finish the first one (watched the movie first again) and try and get in Catching Fire before November when the movie comes out.

C: Cake or Pie?
Oooh. This is a toughie. I am not so much a “cake” person as more of a cupcake person. It’s the perfect amount. But honestly I wouldn’t refuse a chocolate silk or cherry piece of pie! So the answer is BOTH!

D: Drink of Choice?
I am not really a coffee person. I really have to be in the mood, that being said black coffee on a cold morning is really really good. I get my caffeine jolt from Diet Pepsi. (or Coke if that’s what’s available) I drink water because it’s necessary, but it’s not my most favorite beverage in the world

source
E: Essential Item?
Mascara! I have blonde BLONDE eyelashes and if I don’t enhance them with a little mascara then my eyes look like something is missing.

F: Favorite Color?
As apparent by my home and wardrobe teal and grey. Seriously it’s everywhere!

G: Game to Play or Watch?
I really don’t like watching sports on television. I prefer to see them live, but since my sports game budget is pretty nil I guess I can tolerate football on television. Since it’s on almost every Sunday during pro season I have gotten a little bit more appreciation for the game.

H: Hometown?
I grew up in many cities but I call my hometown Simi Valley. It’s where I spent the majority of my youth and my parents grew up there too!

I: Indulgence?
I indulge in YouTube vids….Jlovesmac1, leflooftv, itsjudy'slife, blog reading and Ghost Hunters. All things my husband just doesn’t understand! But I love it!

J: Job Title
I am an interior designer. My firm specializes in commercial design and tenant improvement, but every once in a while we get to do some great and fun things!

K: Kids and Names?
Yes! We totally want kids! Sooner the better! We keep trying with no luck, but that’s not stopping us! Oh no it’s not! As for names, I have a couple boys names that I truly LOVE! Girls are another story. Frankly I am kinda on the name your girls with gender neutral names trend. I love Spencer, Kennedy, and Presley a lot…..sigh. I guess it will only matter when the time comes.

L: Life is Incomplete Without?
My hubby and our puppy. We have such a wonderful life, and constantly make each other laugh. Our pup is just as quirky. I guess the saying pets are like their owners is true!

M: Music Group?
I worked in a music store for 4 years in college. My music taste is vast! Gangster rap and polka are really the only thing I don’t care for. I have girly music, boy bands, classic rock, scream-o, punk, grunge, alternative, country, hip hop, electronica, trance, dance, r&b, jazz, you name it, I either will listen to it! Although I have been on a country kick lately.

N: Number of Siblings?
Biologically I am an only child. I did marry into a family with multiple children so I now have siblings! Yes! A brother and a sister!

O: Oranges or Apples?
Apples!

P: Phobias/Fears?
Heights! Greatest fear of all! I am doing things to try and overcome that though! Like zip lining! I was so scared! Next time we go to a theme park, I will attempt to talk myself into roller coasters again.

Q: Quote?
“Love me without fear. Trust me without questioning. Need me without demanding. Want me without restriction. Accept me without change. Desire me without inhibitions. For a love so free…will never fly away”

R: Reason To Smile?
Every day should be a reason to smile. I have a wonderful family, a great career, I am healthy. What’s more to need? Possessions only make you unhappy. I have made a pact that I want memories and laughter in my life. That way, when I am feeling a little blue I have those to look back on and smile.

S: Season?
Fall. I love the cool breezes and the color changes (even though they are few and far between here in So-Cal)

T: Tattoos?
None yet. I have one planned but I just need to get up the courage to go and get it done!

U: Unknown Fact About Me?
My favorite cartoon character is Sleeping Beauty for a reason. I can fall asleep anywhere. At a motocross race, in the middle of a party, while driving (in the passenger seat of course!) Seriously I LOVE to sleep!

source
V: Vegetable You Love?
Currently I am loving sugar snap peas. They are the perfect snack!

W: Worst Habits?
I pick at my face! All the time! It’s no wonder my skin is always breaking out! The hubby is always pulling my hand away from a scabbed over pimple. It’s really bad! However when I put on foundation and concealer I pick less…..perhaps I should do that more often.

X: X-Rays?
I have had a couple, but have never broken any bones. One for a majorly sprained ankle….I can’t remember what the other ones were for.

Y: Yummy Food?
PASTA! I love pasta especially my family’s home made sauce!!!!!

Z: Zoo Favorites?
I am more of an aquarium person. I love looking at fish, seals, jellies, and of course SHARKS!!!! Shark week is one of my favorite tv series!

11 Random Things

As I was perusing my dashboard I came across this post from The Simple Dude. Apparently there is a game going around on the net, whether it is twitter, facebook or blogging where if you are tagged in a post then you must answer pre-set questions that the tagger has designated for you and post 11 random facts as well. Although I wasn't tagged, I thought it was an intriguing idea and I liked the questions that were posed. I am not going to tag people in it, but if you choose to play the game then the directions are below.
The Rules:
1. Post these rules
2. You must post 11 random things about yourself
3. Answer the questions set for you in the post you were tagged in
4. Create 11 new questions for your tagees to answer
5. Tag them on Twitter, Facebook or your blog (or all of the above)

11 Random Facts:
1.  I hate salsa....I know its weird. I love tomato's and pasta sauce, but there is something about the spices in salsa that I despise.
2. I love fireplaces. Sitting in front of them with a cup of hot chocolate makes me feel so good. It's the best feeling and it reminds me of home. (Yes even in 100 degree heat I love them!)
3. I am a craft addict. I love finding new and creative things to do. It's also a nice thing to do with family or friends! Also party planning is so fun cause you can incorporate those crafts.
4. I have lived in 2 states (CA and FL) and 2 countries (USA and Spain {in utero, but it counts to me!})
5. I like puzzle books, the fill-in kind. I find them all over our apartment and buy a new one pretty much every time I go on an airplane.
6. As much as I say I am not ready for kids, its just an act....I really want them, like now!
7. I hate it when people say one thing to my face, and do another.
8. I could live in another state or country. I am ready for a change, just so long as my mom comes with! :-)
9. I am extremely sensitive, and am easily hurt by actions, or words. When I feel threatened I close up and become emotionally unavailable.
10. I am sentimental over memories, not objects. I hate clutter. I keep things for a while and they either get donated to the round file or Goodwill. We love photos, those are our memories. We have over 10,000 just from the last 5 years!
11. I like to be organized, although I am not always, I strive to have a place for everything and it all put AWAY!

The Questions:
1. If you were stuck on a deserted island, who would you want to be stuck with?
Of course I would want my hubby and my parents. We can survive without anything else......except for maybe facebook. Will my blackberry work there? Or with on of those "guy guys, you know, those guys with skills. Yeah. You send them into the wilderness with a pocket knife and a Q-tip and they build you a shopping mall." - Six Days Seven Nights (Not a jab at my hubbys skills....I love that movie and quote this line when talking about deserted islands!)

2. What is your favorite foreign film? (it has to have subtitles to qualify)
I have only watched a few and I wouldn't call any of them a favorite.

3. When you hear the word “intimacy” what does it mean to you?
Being able to open yourself up completely to another human being. Physically and emotionally. You can only be completely intimate with a person who truly understands who you are as a whole person. Most people only get certain parts of you.

4. Have you ever met someone randomly and ended up spending a super fun day with them? When? (If you feel like sharing, please do)
Yes, on our honeymoon. We met a couple in the hotel lobby on our way to the cruise ship. We spent most of our days shopping and enjoying their company. We still talk to this day even though we live 3000 miles away.

5. If you were to have an erotic dream about someone, celebrity, real person or whatever, who/what would it be?
I tend to not remember my dreams. I sleep very heavy so I am either in a deep sleep or awake.

6. Where’s the furthest you’ve traveled? What’s your favorite destination of the one’s you’ve been to? Why?
London England is the farthest away I have traveled. 12 hour flight and no sleep....super fun. My favorite place that I have been to has to be Ireland. Even though I was so sick while I was there, I enjoyed the people and the atmoshpere so much. I also did things that I never thought I would do in my life there! Best memories of my high school career!

7. What’s your favorite moment of 2012 so far?
This one is hard because I have yet to do much of anything this year. Probably either celebrating my god-daughters first birthday, or reconnecting with an old friend. We had a great lunch and just talked about all the things we have missed the last 10 years.

8. Your favorite tv show?
Sex and the City. I can watch them over and over and still laugh.

9. What’s the last book you read?
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Steig Larsson. Now onto The Girl Who Played with Fire. I still need to see Tattoo the movie.

10. What is the first thing you think of when someone asks you “what are you grateful for?”?
I am grateful for everything. I have no regrets for how my life has turned out. All the things that have happened in my life, whether they were good or bad, have taught me something, or brought someone into my life. I love my family most of all. My little family of three as well as my extended blood relatives and friends. Those that stick around even when things are hard and that's what I am grateful for the most.

11. Have you ever been to San Francisco? If so, what’s the most favorite thing you’d want someone to do if they went for the first time?
I have never been there, but would love to go see the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.
