Baby #2 Bumpdate: Week 8, 9, and 10

Hi folks, In case you missed it, were preggo with Baby #2! And by preggo I'm not talking about a food baby from too much spaghetti! I mean a real life actual bun in my oven! We are so excited! Here's what we were looking at for the first trimester and first couple of weeks! I have been keeping a journal this whole time so I don't forget anything!

Week 8: Lets start out this week with the flu! I was sick a lot when I was pregnant with Emma, but this was the straight FLU! Nausea, stuffy nose, coughing. You name it, I was down for the count for 5 days! The fever made the night-time sleep HORRIBLE. I mean that "change" thing I was talking about was ten times worse and still continues to this day. Once the flu made its way out of my body then the hormonal sleep problems started. I mean exhausted all day and then couldn't sleep at night. Thanks nature. You are cruel! Totally craving cheese and made Darin stop at the store specifically for cold Kosher dill pickles on the way home from work. Yes I am a cliche pregnant woman!

Week 9: (This is technically week 8) Doctor appointment week!!!!! Oh my goodness, I was so excited at the beginning of the week, and that excitement turned to nerves by Thursday morning. The office called while we were en-route and said that my doctor was heading to the hospital for a delivery and that we were going to be rescheduled. I pleaded with them to just reschedule me with the other physician. They accommodated me and we continued on. I didn't want to wait longer!! Emma was such a good girl waiting for the doc. She drew on a piece of paper and watched Duck Tales on daddies phone. Once the dr. came in we went over my history and then it was u/s time! We saw the little bean on the screen and a strong beating heartbeat! Instant relief! When I asked the dr to clarify that there was only 1 baby in there he said yes, but pointed at a dark shadow next to the sack and said, "although it looks like there was a start of a twin right there!" WHAT?! Oh wow that was crazy! Because I have had some cramping, which is usually normal, he proceeded to check my ovaries. He discovered two cysts on my left ovary. Nothing to be concerned about with baby but he asked that I come in again in two weeks to look at them. Which means we get to see baby in a u/s!!! This is making me nervous, but Dr. Google assured me that they most likely will go away on it's own. We saw a return of the chicken aversion and not really wanting sweets.

Week 10: My mother-in-law was in town this week and spoiled us by cooking homemade meals every night. It was nice to come straight home to dinner and seeing our baby girl. Fatigue was in FULL swing this week but the hormonal insomnia was also. Still falling asleep at 830-9pm usually in the chair before it was even Emma's bedtime. I would zombie my way back into bed. Since I am at a different job this time around I need to make sure I have snacks on me and water to make sure I don't get dehydrated. The nice thing is I can have lunch with my hubby now, but his lunches are usually scheduled at 230. to go from 830-230 with no food is a bad idea and I was usually a stark raving HANGRY individual by the time I got to the food. One day my blood sugar had dropped so low, even though I did have a snack, that I was shaking and lightheaded by the time I got the food, and it didn't taste good at all. I just ate to put something in my stomach. The chicken aversion is waning, and the sweet tooth is slowly returning, but my favorite items currently are cheese, sliced extra sharp cheddar straight, and salty items.....chips, pickles, french fries. Homemade comfort foods just sound so yummy! Same as with Emma!

Here's my update with Emma: Week 8,9, and 10
