Baby #2 Bumpdate: 12 Weeks

Hi hi! Ok I hope you are all caught up and we are starting our first official photo ready bumpdates! Woohoo! Were gonna duplicate these like last time with a play by play on baby and mom!

What's baby up to this week? He/she is the size of a lime, just over 2 inches long from crown to rump. The eyes have moved from the side of the head to the front, right where they belong. Reflexes are beginning to form and soon will be able to open and close their fingers. Toes will curl and eye muscles will clench. Nerve cells are multiplying rapidly and synapses in the brain are forming. Intestines will move into the abdominal cavity and the kidneys will begin excreting urine into baby's bladder.

What's been going on with mom? Anxiety. Duh. Until we made it into seeing my doctor I have been a complete and utter wreck. It's not like I haven't been through this all before, but I guess needing to see baby again and hear that all is well from my doctor. They did an ultrasound and checked my ovaries and the cysts are all gone! We even saw baby playing in my tummy! Something that was rare with Emma, she was ALWAYS asleep.....something that didn't translate to outside the womb! Other than that just working a lot. Something that I haven't wanted to be doing. I just want to snuggle in bed with my loves.

Symptoms: They were pretty mild. I did have one night of complete tummy trouble and most of Sunday I was a wreck with tummy troubles and exhaustion, but other than that I'm sleeping pretty well again. The insomnia has seemed like it's subsided. Yay. I finished my drug store pre-natals and started on the samples that the dr. office provided and a majority of them I want to gag! I mean the flavors they added this time around?! Really? So that's causing a little backup, but that's to be expected.

Yummy/Icky: The chicken aversion seems to be fading. I made a garlic lemon chicken with rice the other night and I devoured it! It was YUMMY! I have discovered that my body isn't liking red sauce....so family sauce and pizza or anything with cooked tomatos is out! I have already broken out the tums.....but it just sounds so good usually! I'm trying to stick with the protein and hamburger sounds good a lot of the time also. I had a MAJOR root beer float craving over the weekend and Darin gladly obliged. Also walking through the supermarket I am drawn to fresh fruit and anything with cheese!

Clothing: Oh the dreaded morning of what to wear? Since work doesn't know yet I have been trying to stay comfortable without being overly frumpy. My work slacks do not fit comfortably....but I haven't pulled out the maternity wear. I have one pair of denim that gets regular use and when they are washed I get sad. SQUEEZE!

That seems to be it! Except a photo of the babe from my appointment and of course if you want to see what it was like to be pregnant with Emma, here is her 12 week update.
