DIY Taggie Blanket (Baby Craft)

Back in June I posted a photo of a taggie blanket that I made for my baby craft stash. I guess maybe trying to have a baby made me put this tutorial on the back burner, or the fact that my DSLR is in the shop and I didn't have a nice camera to take photo's with. (hi to my little point and shoot) However, I have taken some photos now and wanted to share with you this simple and quick baby gift.

What You'll Need:
12"x12" piece Minkie fabric
12"x12" piece coordinating cotton fabric
5 different cloth ribbons
Sewing Machine

Directions:
1. Cut your various ribbons 6" long, they can be a little longer if you would like as the are going to be sewn into a seam, so you are going to lose 1/4" of the ribbon. Any fabric ribbon works for this.

2. Fold your ribbon in half and pin the ribbon with the looped side facing the interior of the fabric. Pin to the front side of the fabric. Space them evenly, and leave one ribbon off for a turning area.

3. Place your back piece on top of your minkie/ribbon fabric, with right sides facing together and pin. Be sure to pin an area where your missing ribbon is so you have an area for turning. Sew a 1/4" seam around the entire perimeter, again leaving that space for turning. Turn your project right-side out and press.

4. Press your opening to have a 1/4" seam and pin your remaining tag inside the hole.

5. Sew a 1/4" seam around the entire piece. Clip any threads. Enjoy!

I hope that you found this simple and easy. I would classify this as a beginner project. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial!
