Just a quick little post to update a major milestone in our life!
So I posted about our bucket list last week and I never thought that we would have crossed an item off a list already....especially not one so large in scale for us. As of today, February 4th, 2015. My husband and I are officially debt free from credit cards! OMG do you know how excited we are to be able to make that announcement! It's been a long time coming and we diligently socked away every last dime we could spare over the last year just so we made sure we could start our future fresh with our new family of three. It's hard enough to live in California with the high cost of living. Add in a baby, planning for college and all other expenses that are needed for her and we have officially reached the over spend limit. We limited eating out, stopped spending the $13/ticket at the movie theater, asked ourselves the question "Can I live without this?" It hasn't been easy and I can tell you that I need some things, a couple pairs of pants and some new shoes....but sometimes sacrifices have to be made for the greater good. And being financially free for our daughter is something that was very important to us. Now we can officially move forward. We can save, save, save to be able to buy a home and put away for our future. It feels great!
Have you recently become debt free? How did you do it?
