The Hubby's New Career!

For years my hubby has been wanting to get into law enforcement or the military. The military wont take him purely because he is a Diabetic, but I kept telling him to try for PD. His brother made a career in the Sheriff's department and so did his uncle, but I think the hubby didn't want to feel like a tag along.

One day I was perusing through our local paper and I saw that the police station was hiring dispatchers. I showed him the article and he immediately went and applied. A couple of weeks later he was invited to take the test for the job. He was told he would hear back within 4-6 weeks. This was the week of Valentine's Day. 4 weeks went by, then 6, then 8. I think he got discouraged and gave up but I kept praying. The middle of May came around and he got a call for an interview! I was so ecstatic! Prayers were had and so was a great interview. They told him they would call Thursday or Friday to tell him if he got the position. Friday came and went with no phone call and I could feel his utter disappointment. I didn't give up hope.....I mean they waited 3 months to call for an interview. Tuesday came and I received a phone call from the hubby around 11am. HE GOT THE JOB! I started crying (pregnancy hormones with relief) and was so happy for him.

He found out that this dispatch center is completely new to our city and he was pioneering it with 6 others! I am so happy that he is in a career that he can love for years and truly feel like he is helping his community. I am so proud of my hubby!!

Boys Behind the Blog - Final

I am so sad that this is the final Boys Behind the Blog. For the last year, once a month we have gotten to find out new and funny things from our significant others, and how they feel about this crazy world of blogging. I can honestly say that I am going to miss this link up, but sometimes good things come to an end.

Here are link's to Darin's answers in the past:

July 2013
August 2013
September 2013
October 2013
November 2013
December 2013
January 2014
February 2014
April 2014

So without further adieu.....D's final questions and answers, as usual I put in my two cents in purple.

1.What was your first job. Sadly my first job was Six Flags Magic Mountain. I guess a job is a job right. He loved it at the time! Free entrance to the park and first dibs on riding all the rides! C'mon that's one of the reasons I worked at Disneyland!

2.What's the biggest risk you've ever taken? Umm not sure what would be my biggest risk would be but maybe just trying things I have never done before such as Zipling. Which ended up being amazing. This was definitely a risk for me! I was utterly terrified to do this but my wonderful hubby got me to go and it was such a great experience!

3.What is one thing you cannot live without. I could never live without my family and friends being around. I am a social person so I love people being around. Such a true statement!!!!

4.What is your least favorite food. I would have to say my least favorite food would be anything with cheese and sushi. Ok I kinda feel him on the sushi, but honestly I have never understood and will never understand how a person cannot like CHEESE! It's amazingness abounds! I just love slicing off a big chunk of extra sharp! YUM! I love him anyways though!

5. If you could time travel where/when would you go. If I could time travel I would like to go back in time and see how living in the Wild West times would be like. Huh....interesting! Not wanting to visit Doc Brown in the 80s?!?

There you have it. I hope you all enjoyed reading thoughts from my hubby as much as I did. I might still keep on asking him questions every month, especially once he becomes a daddy, just to hear his perspective on things, also in his handwriting. (typing)

Boys Behind the Blog - April 2014

I gave the hubby a reprieve last month because the questions just didn't apply to him, but does that mean he gets one this month? Hell no! If you aren't aware, the Boys Behind the Blog is a monthly link up where we ask our significant others a series of questions so that you, our loyal readers, get to know them a little better. If you want more info head on over to Mal Smiles blog and get all the questions! You can even read past questions! Here we go for this month, as usual my comments are in purple.

1. Your significant others blog: a blessing or a curse? I find the blog to be a blessing because it is something that Diane enjoys doing and eventually it will be nice to look back and relive our experiences. I agree! This is something that overtime we will be able to look back and read all about what was going on in our lives.

2. Do you read your wife's blog?  Of course I do. I enjoy reading what she has to say. Well that makes me feel happy that he likes to read what I write, even though I know he doesn't read every post. Although he did get on my case last week about a late bumpdate. "I went to read it and it wasn't there!"

3. What is one thing you can do better than anyone you know? He text me a response to this question, but really didn't have an answer, so I am going answer for him. My hubby may have his faults, but he is such a loving and kind person to everyone he meets. He will help anyone out without question and only wants people to be respectful to him in return. I love him for this quality!

4. What is your favorite tv sitcom from the 90s? My favorite sitcom had to be Boy Meets World. Didn't even need confirmation on this one. Hands down this is his favorite show, and he keeps talking about the Girl Meets World spin off that's set to air soon!

5. If you were opening a small business or shop, what would it be? What goods or services would you sell? A dog crate shop since it was impossible to find a good crate for our dog that wasn't cheaply made or put together. This is so true! Honestly he could create the most stable dog crate on the planet with all of his experience reinforcing our crappy dog crates!

There you have it. Can't wait to hear next months questions and answers!

Boys Behind the Blog - February Edition

He's back! With answers to this months Boys Behind the Blog questions Sochi and Vday Style! His answers were a little more wordy today AND I got him to get them to me early! Go D! As usual my responses are in Purple.

1.If you could live anywhere, where would you live?  So, if I could live anywhere where would it be???  Umm…that a great question because I know it would not be in California any more. But if I had to pick I would probably pick somewhere on the east coast because I think the scenery is beautiful. I am thinking somewhere like South Carolina. Can't get him away from the coast. Guess it's good we will never be landlocked!

2. Sand or snow? When it comes to sand or snow why do I have to pick. Why can't I have both. One of my favorite vacation destinations is Lake Tahoe that has sandy beaches to walk on and snow capped mountains to snowboard or ski on. I have never been skiing or snowboarding. It's on the bucket list, but it might be a while. I'll probably need to get my ab muscles back!

3. What Winter Olympic sport would you rock at?  I have never played or done any winter Olympic sport but I think I would "rock" at speed skating. I always had my rollerblades on growing up either playing street hockey or sprinting up and down our street. I don't doubt it. He's compact and strong! Gotta work out those leg muscles and you'd be right in!

4. You're cooking a romantic dinner- what is your go-to dish?  If I was to surprise my beautiful wife with a romantic dinner I would probably pick my go to dish of spicy sausage jambalaya or one of her favorites Beef Stroganoff. YUM! Are you making beef stroganoff tonight?!?! Preggo craving!

5. Fill in the blank: This year, I gave (your wife/girlfriend/fiance's name) a ____________________ for Valentine's Day? So this year I gave my wife Diane a bouquet of flowers, a card, and a box of chocolates for Valentine's day. The box of chocolates, I have to admit, was for a selfish reason though. At our ultrasound when we found out I will be the father of a baby girl they gave Diane chocolate to help motivate the baby to move and be active. So I got her a box of chocolate so I could feel my baby daughter kick. So far this year, feeling my daughter kick for the first time has to be one of my fondest memories. Uh...I thought he was just being a sweetie bear and getting me chocolate. I didn't know he had ulterior motives! :-( That's ok though....anything for him to feel her move!

Well there you have it. Another round of fun answers from my main squeeze! Love you Babie!

Comfortable With Each Other - Happy VDay!

In honor of Valentine's Day, and inspired by a fellow blogger, I thought that I would take a break from all the baby talk around here (I know, your all applauding) and discuss the various things that they hubby and I are comfortable doing around one another......well maybe this more applies to me, as there are no boundaries when it come to D and I. In relationships you get to that comfortable stage and frankly certain things don't bother you like they once did. The hubby and I have been together for such a long time that all the traditional taboo topics have been discussed or experienced! There are those times when you just have to look at one another and laugh....which is what we tend to do.

Via

1. Get Dolled Up - I don't know about you guys, but when I met my husband I rarely did my hair or put on makeup. I only get dolled up for special occasions these days. Really my routine is concealer, powder and mascara. I can't tell you how many times the hubby has come up to me with a tee, jeans and my hair in a ponytail and told me how beautiful I look. Awe!

2. Eat off one another's fork in public - People may look at us funny, but I think it takes way too much time and energy to cut off a slice and place it on the others plate. Just get a bite and let them eat it! Who cares!

3. Expel Gas (Belching or Farting) - Everyone does it! It's always funny! Now, being pregnant, it is a side effect that cannot be avoided. Honestly who has time to run to the bathroom every five minutes? Not me! At first I made an attempt to conceal it from the hubby....and I still am a lady in public of course! Always excusing myself. But at home we each do it, and get a kick out of one another.

Via

4. Leaving the door open - Since we are on this topic, and this is only me we are talking about, I don't always close the door when I am using the bathroom. Don't ask me why, but I don't. Call it lazy, or whatever but I have done this for YEARS. I don't see it changing soon. Drive's the hubby up the walls.

5. Be a big baby - Seriously....I cannot kill a spider to save my life. I insist that D do it every time I find one! I act like a little girl, pointing up at the ceiling and saying KILL IT! Not my most attractive feature!

6. Swear -  I have an affinity towards certain swear words. I use them religiously when I get irritated or upset. The hubby hates it when I swear. It's something that I have been working on especially now being pregnant....but at some point, it's the MOST appropriate word for the moment.

7. Honesty - The farther you get into a relationship, the more honest you can be with one another. Don't ask the "Does this shirt make me look fat?" question if you don't want an honest answer....and yes your breath smells rancid in the morning....go brush those bad boys! You get to be honest about your feelings, fears, dreams, etc. Anything and everything is allowed on the table.

8. Not shaving - You betcha I'm guilty of this, and so is he. You know there comes a time when you can't remember when the last time you shaved....this is the time when you need to or else you will have a fur coat for winter. There will be times when the hubby and I are cuddling in bed, and my nose is itchy but I am too lazy to actually scratch it myself....I'll just use his overgrowth on his chin!

Via

Well I think I opened myself up there a little bit! Haha.....but I know that most women are guilty of some if not all of these as well. I love the fact that the hubby and I are so comfortable in our own skin and with each others quirks that we just know how each one will react. Neither of us feel insecure or a need to be someone else when were around each other, and to me that is perfect!

Wishing my hubby a Happy Valentines Day and I can't wait until you have a new Valentine in your life to spoil! I love you so much!

Boys Behind the Blog #8

Hi everyone! He's back, your favorite dad to be (albeit LATE!) with this months boys behind the blog questions! The answers are getting shorter and shorter each month! As usual my responses are in purple!

1. What was your favorite movie of 2013? Fast and the Furious 6. I totally knew this was the answer and would have totally balked at it, except well Paul Walker (TEAR!) Although the movie itself was really unrealistic and I might have said "Are you kidding me!?!" very loudly during the credits when Jason Statham came on the screen. Really dislike that actor!

2. What is your all time favorite movie quote? I don't really have a favorite movie quote but my friends and Diane use to tease me about me reenacting the part from Gone in Sixty Seconds when Nicolas Cage is listening to Low Rider before they "boost" all the cars. Cage looks at his buddies, makes two "guns" with his fingers and says "Let's Ride!" Everytime I hear Low Rider I make him re-enact the scene because he does it so perfectly!

3. What is your favorite type of movie? My favorite genre of movie would have to be action. Fairly evident from the above answers!

4. What is your New Year's Resolution? I didn't make a New Years resolution. Last year I didn't and it was a great year. Me either! Resolutions are dumb!

5. Finish the sentence: This year I will.... be the best I can be in my professional and personal lives by ensuring that I don't sweat the small stuff. Good plan honey! I should follow suit, but I'm carrying a child and do sweat every tiny thing! Haha!

There you go! Want to participate in this? Head on over to Never the Same Spice Twice and check out all the past questions! Until next time!

Boys Behind the Blog - Christmastime!

Were stepping away from baby stuff....well sort of...today to bring you another round of the Boys Behind the Blog. I wish I could schedule these, but it seems like the hubby loves to make me wait until the very last second to get me the answers. Sheesh! As always my comments are in purple, but the answers weren't very wordy this time around....oh well.

1. What is your favorite cereal? My favorite cereal at the moment would have to be Raisin Bran Crunch. Yea, he never touched Raisin Bran until he started living with me. Can I tell you what the sheer awesomeness that Raisin Bran is? The crunch kind however, I will leave. It doesn't taste good to me. We still always have at least two types of cereal in our pantry.

2. Pancakes or waffles? I prefer waffles. Agreed. Pancakes are boring, waffles have their own very special tool to make them function. Thanks to a Christmas gift from a friend years back we use our waffle iron a minimum of once a month, and it's almost ALWAYS at dinnertime.

3. What is your favorite holiday tradition? It would have to be decorating the tree, putting up Xmas lights outside, and watching both the Home Alone movies. It's our tradition and it will carry on FOREVER!

4. Finish the sentence: All I want for Christmas is... My two front teeth. No just kidding. All I want for Xmas is not something I will get in December, not even January, not even in June but July 5 to be exact. All I want for Xmas is our baby to be born healthy. I can't wait to hold our baby in my arms and know that I am a Dad. Awe! He's a proud papa already. What if the baby comes earlier or later than July 5th?!?

5. What was your best moment of 2013? Best moment of 2013 is when I found out that Diane is pregnant and when we saw the little heartbeat for the first time at our ultrasound! I am the first one to say I'm a weirdo, but like in the movie "Hook," becoming a Dad is my happy thought! <3<3<3

Well that's all folks, the last post of 2013 from my wonderful hubby. There are plenty more to come from where this came from, as well as TONS more to talk about next year too!

Boys Behind the Blog - November

It's that time again! We get to hear from the man that deals with all of my craziness and all the projects that makes our home a disaster! The third Thursday of every month is dedicated to the Boys Behind the Blog. If your interested click the button at the bottom and Stephanie and Mallory will catch you up! As per usual my comments are in purple.

1. Who is your favorite band/musician?  I love all music, except for rap (crap). I wouldn't say I have a favorite band or musician. We both had a short stint with listening to Eminem.....see question three. But now we have moved onto the easy going lifestyle and sound of country music.

2. What was your first cd/tape? Wow. I honestly can't recall which was my first cd but the first cd that I recall buying for myself was I think Usher or Dr Dre. Um....yea. I had to introduce him to many things, which helped because I worked at a music store for four years....bands like Aerosmith, AC/DC, The Eagles.....I really love classic rock!

3. Who was your first concert?  My first concert was a horrible experience. We went to the Anger Management Tour with Eminem. A friend won tickets on KROQ FM and gave us his two tickets he had paid for. We did not enjoy the concert because there were fights, drug use, and mosh pits. Which are not at all our type of a good time. Granted, the name of the concert was the Anger Management Tour, but when you keep having to move seats because people are starting fires, punching each other and lighting up....it puts a damper on your day. We left before the headliner even went on stage.

4. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? My favorite thanksgiving food would have to be Turkey. But I always look forward to homemade cranberry sauce now. YUMMMMMMMM I still love the canned cranberry sauce, (the one that you slice!) but my mom started making a homemade sauce that is to die for....I am attempting to make it this year because I wont have hers. Also, Grandma's pies.....will miss those too.

5. Finish the sentence: I am thankful for.... I would have to honestly say the thing I am must thankful for is my wife, Diane. She is my best friend and one of the only people I can seriously always count on being there for me. She is my support system in good/bad times. She shows me unconditional love every day. I can't wait till we are lucky enough to start a family. If I could choose again I would pick her to be my wife and the love of my life every time. I love you Babie. Swoon! It's always nice to hear those kinds of words! I couldn't agree with them more for him!

There you have it.....the Music/Thankful version of the BBtB. Wonder what the questions are going to be like for Christmas? BTW has anyone else felt the need to start decorating early? Since we cut cable I haven't gotten the Christmas overload yet and am wanting to put up our tree.....sigh the hubby said we have to wait. Not allowed to skip Thanksgiving I guess.

Boys Behind the Blog - October Style

That was when our pup was just a baby! Love this photo!
Ok, so this post is late......not due to me, but because Le hubby forgot. I reminded him yesterday, but he didn't get a chance to finish until to tonight. But here they are, this month's boys behind the blog questions. As usual my comments are in purple.

1. Describe yourself in 5 words.
Honest. Honesty is huge for me. I would rather tell the truth and have someone mad at me for a short time then lie and then the person find out later and know I did/said what I did and now they would be upset/mad at me due to deceiving them. This is beyond true. My husband despises liars! Any deception makes him upset.
Punctual. I just hate being late places so you can always count on me being where I need to be on time. I would rather be early than have someone waiting around for me. And when I say I will be somewhere on time I am usually there 5 minutes early. If you want me there at 11. I'll be there at 1055. I had to learn this early on in our relationship.....now, unless I know for certain that the person will be late, I am always early to functions too.
Social. I love meeting new people. Growing up, I would meet new people on family vacations that would usually end up hanging out in my families hotel room. I enjoy meeting new people.  He is the social butterfly, always wanting to meet new people and I.AM.NOT.
Helpful. I would consider myself helpful because I am always willing to help a friend or family in need. Again true.....even when he doesn't want to, he is willing to help out!
Stubborn. My wife can attest to the fact I can be extremely stubborn. Something I am working on for sure. :-) Um, yes.....but people who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones, so I have no place to talk. Super stubborn myself!

2. What's your biggest fear?
Umm I would probably have to say not being able to provide for my family. One way I feel I could not be able to provide would be by simply losing my job for any reason. If I lost my job I wouldn't be able to bring in any income. That's probably why I always make sure I perform staying within all rules and guidelines because it is my fear the one time I bend the rules it will cost me my job and cause me not to be able to provide for my family. Hopefully this fear will never be a reality!

3. Whats your favorite candy?
Man you have to ask me, a diabetic, what my favorite candy is!  I have to admit I have a HORRIBLE sweet tooth. My favorite candy would probably be Hot Tamales. I love cinnamon. Probably hence why I like Fireball whiskey so much. It used to be Sour Patch Kids.....but I think he turned those onto me. And yes.....worst sweet tooth, however it has been curbed since we cut the cola.

4. What was the best Halloween costume you have ever worn?
My favorite costume would have to be when we dressed up as Scotsmen. Yes, this couples costume was rather epic.....however, my favorite was when he went as Jack Sparrow.....had the wine bottle labeled "Rum" and actually filled it with Bacardi and diet! Ahhhh memories!

Ok, so in the email that he sent me with the answers....included in this question was (attach photo.) Like I need a directive for my own blog! Silly!

5. Who is your favorite football team?
I don't really have a favorite team but prefer to watch the San Diego Chargers play. I will also root for any team playing against the Oakland Raiders! Amen to the Raiders thing.....although that's my saying! He also watches the Patriots too.

Once I had this post set and almost ready to publish, the hubby came in and saw Stephanie's post and said "that's all I had to do?" I love that he puts in the real effort and actually writes out his answers instead of onsie twosie liners. Hopefully he continues! Check back next month for more questions!!

Never Have I Ever Scuba Dived: The Boys Behind the Blog

Hey Everyone. It's that time of the month again when we hear from the men that support our crazy little idea called blogging. They love us for it, and sometimes might not understand it. One Thursday a month, several bloggers open up the day to let their readers hear the voice of the men that keep us going, give us topics to write about and just overall love us. On these posts they get to have their voices heard....of course with our own little tidbits thrown in! Take a read at my hubby's answers to this month's set of questions. My comments are in purple. Don't forget to join in on the conversation to with your S.O.'s!

1. If you were an animal, what animal would you be?
Well that is a tough question. Like Diane found out at her bridal shower I like monkeys, although I think I would like to be an eagle. I choose an eagle because they are a bird that to me displays strength and also represents our great country!  I consider my self pretty patriotic so staying along those lines I would have to pick a bald eagle, to be exact, for the animal I would want to be if I magically was able to become one. Where did magically come from? Oooooook. Yes that was a question I missed during one of my bridal shower games and have not let him live it down! I like that he has a bald eagle. They are rare, and for him to love something so precious and also representative of our great nation makes me feel good about my decision to marry this man!

2. What is your favorite meal?
Ok. I definitely like my food but if I was choose my favorite meal I would have to say Tacos. I would probably have to blame/associate that with when my mom was pregnant with me that's all she craved. Jack in the Box tacos to be exact. But my favorite tacos would be homemade tacos in the fried shells that Diane does up or Del Taco has my favorite tacos, if homemade are not an option. Does anyone remember the Boy Meets World episode where all Cory does is say "taco" and make the hand eating gesture? Everytime he wants tacos, he says it exactly like that and does the hand gesture! He really does love tacos!

3. Do you use any forms of social media? What is your favorite?
Ok. Is this really a question?!?!?  What social media do I use?  I think I am like almost (I said almost because I know there are a lot of people that refuse to have an account due to the drama) everyone when I say "Facebook". Don't know what it is about it but I am addicted. I can't stay away. I tried to cancel it for a bit and it only lasted a day. I also use Instagram and checked out twitter. I would have to say I don't have a favorite because I would rather be socializing with people out side playing team sports like volleyball. This is true. He is a social butterfly and given the choice would prefer to be with people....I love my bloggies and all my social media! Although, I could try and stay off Facebook for a while.

4. Beer, wine, liquor or other?
I would have to say I dip into all. My favorite liqueur at the moment would have to be "Fireball". It's a cinnamon whiskey that is delicious. I can drink it straight with no mixer while usually I can't even take Jack Daniels as a shot. Fireball is very smooth with the spice of cinnamon. If you haven't tried it I recommend it. I also like beer and wine. My first choice for a beer would have to be a "Blue Moon" with and orange. For a wine I would say any red wine preferable a red blend like John Clancy's. Oh yea! We are so in sync here its not even funny! Although, I'd take a Angry Orchard over the Blue Moon!! Give us simple and we are happy!

5.  Complete the sentence: "Never have I ever....."
So you want me to complete the sentence "Never have I ever..."  Hmmm...never have I ever been scuba diving. This is one my bucket list of things I really want to check off soon. I have always, since I was a little kid, loved to swim. My mom told me that when I was young the first thing I did was swam under water the width of the pool under water after she removed my water wings for the first time. I have been drawn to the water ever since. All growing up my birthday parties were always at our community pool in high school I was on the varsity swim team. I also coached the swim team at our community pool for four years. My favorite vacation location is Lake Tahoe during the summer for all the water related activities we are able to do. My dream is to some day go scuba dive in a beautiful reef someone like Hawaii or the Bahamas with the fish and other sea creatures. It is so peaceful underwater. Agreed! Also things haven't changed very much....what did he want to do on his 30th birthday? Invite our friends over to lounge in the pool!

I would say "I Do" all over again

Today marks the 6 year anniversary of our wedding. It is amazing to me that it has been that long. We have been married longer than most people we know, our own age, and still love each other more and more each day. We still talk about the biggest party of our lives and the memories that it created. Every year we like to watch our ceremony video and re-live those words that we spoke out of our hearts. Holding hands and snuggling, we remember the vow that we took and the love that we share. I always ask if we can have the wedding again, because I truly mean that I would marry this man all over again. He is my soul mate and my best friend. Even during our struggles we can always overcome them and in the end it makes our bond that much stronger. Remember my love, "If you knew how happy you are making me, I never thought I'd love anyone so much." There were never truer words spoken in a song and listening to that still brings tears to my eyes as I re-live each memory.

This year on our anniversary we are going to be in Lake Tahoe. Our first vacation spot together. I wish to re-live a memory that we created by driving up to the Emerald Bay overlook and taking a "now" photo. Once of my favorite photo's from our early years is in this spot and I wish to re-create it.

Cheers to love! Happy September!

Emma Stone vs. Mila Kunis

Remember this guy? He's back with some more questions for the Boys Behind the Blog series link up. I find it amusing the answers he gives each round. My comments are in purple. So without further adieu:

1. What would you do with $1,000,000? "With $1,000,000 I would pay off all our debt (not that we have that much, so really we would have A LOT leftover) and buy us a house and invest the rest. Most people would say they would quit their job but I would get bored if I did that so I would keep my job." Love it! I like that he has work ethic and wouldn't just want to laze about all day. Although I could handle taking a couple weeks off to do that!

via

2.What is your dream job? "My dream job would probably anything that would put me helping others such as a teacher teaching what I enjoy, such as swimming." He'd be a great teacher. He loves helping people and has great people skills....me not so much. Too introverted.

3. Who is your celebrity crush? "Celebrity crush would be a hard one. I like Emma Stone or Mila Kunis."  I am ok with Emma Stone. I think she's hilarious......Mila is a little outta left field for what I thought my hubby's type was.

4. What is your favorite sports team? "Don't really have a favorite sports team. I have a team that I prefer in each sport tho. Baseball- Dodgers; Football - Chargers; Hockey - Kings; Basketball - I guess the Lakers :)" Me, I don't care about sports!

5. What was your AOL/AIM screen name back in the day? "Aol screen name was lame DCK714"

There you have it. How would your S.O. answer these questions?

I Think I've Created A Monster

This baby is the source of my hubby's newest obsession! It was a bear trying to get this gift for him! He has been wanting a dirt bike for years, because we live in a city with a ton of trails. He also hates exercising indoors. (see:gym) So in an effort to get him active again, I decided that this was the perfect gift for him.

I did however learn my lesson the hard way about trying to buy sporting equipment from a big box store. The original bike I bought was put together wrong (the handlebars weren't even screwed on and the brakes were just sitting there) and the tire would not hold air....so even though I drug our poor friend around all over town on his Friday night, I decided to return it and go to a bike store and get him this really nice bike. Triple the price of the original, but something that will last the hubbs for years. Honestly I like this one better then the original bike I purchased. It just looks like an adult bike.

Since he got it on the 15th, he has ridden between 10 and 15 mile averages on the days he rides. One day, on his week off, he rode all the way to our local mall. That was about a 30 mile round trip, including hills! I am glad that he really likes his gift and is getting out and being active, but I think I created a monster! He is looking up trails, downloading apps and watching mountain biking YouTube videos! Hehe. I love this man! Enjoy the ride my love!
