Baby #2 Bumpdate: 16 Weeks

What's baby up to this week? He/she is the size of a avocado (yum), measuring 4-1/2" long and weighs about 3-1/2 oz. He/she is gearing up for a growth spurt in the next few weeks and will gain weight and inches. Baby's legs are much more developed, his/her head is more erect than it has been and the eyes have moved closer to the front of the head. Baby's heart is pumping 25 quarts of blood each day and this amount will continue to rise.

What's been going on with mom? Oh....this was a rough week for mom, but exciting for daddy. I had lots of stress at work coupled with a new morning routine as the hubs started his new job as a police dispatch officer. More on that later. Mornings are now solely mommies routine which means I have to wake up earlier.....yucky. NOT.A.MORNING.PERSON. But it's all for the greater good. Hubby picks Emma up now and we are both home before 7! It's awesome. I have just been trying to let things roll off my back, but have just been super emotional. We had lots to do to prep for a big family weekend at our house for Father's Day.

Symptoms: Emotional is the number one! Everything turns on the water works! EVERYTHING! Sleeping has been ok, but I wake multiple times a night with just thoughts.....typical woman.

Yummy/Icky: Still not craving much of anything. Had Darin run to McDonalds for a mcflurry because he didn't want to get dressed to get me a chocolate come from Baskin Robbins.....which I guess is ok, but I still want my chocolate cone! I will get it! The pickle jar is kept full! Other than that really nothing sounds good......same as last week.

Clothing: Same as last week. Squeezing into everything I own. The girls seemed to have grown and since I am weaning Emma's morning feed they feel even larger. I will be making some shorts and short sleeve purchases soon.

Movement: It's pretty lackadaisical, and sometimes I feel it and sometimes no. I was stressing out because I hadn't felt anything for days and Dr. Google said this was normal. All was confirmed fine at my Dr's appointment when we got a heartrate of 146. Which tells me girl, but that's lower than Emma's was at 156.....so we shall see.

Best Moment this Week: Hearing the heartbeat and celebrating Father's Day with Darin.

Looking forward to: Anatomy scan in three weeks! We will find out the gender on daddies birthday!

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 15 Weeks

What's baby up to this week? He/she is the size of a apple, measuring 4" long and weighs about 2-1/2 oz. He/she is busy moving amniotic fluid through the nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the air sacs in the lungs begin to develop. The legs are growing longer than their arms and can move all the tiny joints and limbs.

What's been going on with mom? Mom has been just wiped out. Work then home, bath and bed. Repeat. This week was soooo hot so I haven't had a chance to relax because of getting everything cool. Guess cold showers are in order.

Symptoms: Everything has been going well. No unusual symptoms to cover. Sleeping well. Eating ok. Just trucking along. Trying to predict with my symptoms what the gender will be. Everyone is still thinking boy. I dunno, I think this baby will be another girl.

Yummy/Icky: Not really craving anything. Also nothing sounds appetizing so that could be why. Fruit always sounds good and ICE COLD water. I am getting my sweet tooth back, just like last time. Sweets sounded gross at the beginning and now chocolate ice cream cones and root beer floats. Yum

Clothing: Same as last week. Squeezing into everything I own. Will be needing to get some pants soon!

Movement: Off and on feeling little taps. They move around. It's kinda funny!

Best Moment this Week: Getting to have a day off and resting with my love. Emma's become really good at snuggling in bed with us! I love it!

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 14 Weeks

What's baby up to this week? He/she is the size of a lemon, measures 3-1/2" long and weighs about 1-1/2 oz. They can squint, frown, grimace, pee and suck their thumb. Baby's liver started making bile, and the spleen starts helping in the production of red blood cells.

What's been going on with mom? We went to Disneyland with Emma this past weekend and I had a fair amount of cramping from being on my feet a lot. But it was so fun to watch Emma take in the Happiest Place on Earth. She had such fun and I was so emotional watching her meet her favorite characters and watch the parades and fireworks. Best thing ever!

Symptoms: Feeling sluggish. Just all the time sleepy. I thought this was supposed to pass! Also the emotions have been on high alert! The most random things make me cry and others are pretty obvious why I would be crying. Like I said above I have had some cramping, but a lot of time its just round ligament pain. Also.....the peeing when I sneeze thing has begun again. That's always a fun one! My dreaming has slowed down a bit, but I have been having lots of nightmares up until recently and I am glad to be sleeping through the night! Thanks to Emma for that also!

Yummy/Icky: I am in straight avoidance mode right now. Trying to stay away from all things that trigger nausea. Which means I have to stick with pretty bland and non greasy foods right now. Plain, non tomato or light sauces on pasta. Fruits and veggies are high on the list. Everytime I go to the store I wander through the fresh aisle and I usually come out with several things. Most of it has to be ICE COLD though. Water has been a pretty large craving too, I'll take a hint that I am not drinking enough. That also has to be ICE COLD. At least were coming into the summer months when the good fruits and veggies are readily available.

Clothing: Same.....squeezing into what I can. I know I don't have a ton of summer options for maternity so I am probably gonna have to do some shopping soon as it has hit triple digits for the last two weeks.......ITS ONLY JUNE!

Movement: Little taps here and there but nothing super consistent.

Looking forward to: My appointment next week! We get to hear babies heartbeat! And of course more movement.

Baby #2 Bumpdate: 13 Weeks

What's baby up to this week? He/she is the size of a pea pod, almost three inches long and weighs nearly an ounce. Fingerprints have formed on his/her fingertips and veins/organs are clearly visible under the still thin skin. The body is starting to catch up to the over sized head with makes up about a third of his/her body.

What's been going on with mom? Mom has been feeling better....aside from finding things to eat...more on that later. I have been feeling less anxious about things, but I think all that will completely melt away once baby starts moving. I have been working a lot so it keeps my mind off it. Last week we went to the cat reserve with Emma and it was so fun to watch her be so excited about the "kitties" and the "birds." Post to come. She also is not too sure about this photo project. She just wants to run around outside and doesn't understand why she has to hold this thing and stand still. I am holding out hope that we will get a smile one day!

Symptoms: Sleep has been great! Finally! Although the sweating has returned due to a large heat wave. The blanket may be coming off the bed sooner rather than later. Nausea still rears it's head when I eat the wrong things. Constipation is very much a prevalent part of my life right now!

Yummy/Icky: Ok.....I am having a rough go at finding things to eat. Nothing sounds appetizing, I literally mean NOTHING. I can't have anything with red tomato sauce (pasta, pizza....etc) or else I suffer from horrible tummy aches and the same goes for anything greasy. Sandwiches sound halfway decent, but they have to be cold cuts.....salami....you know....the bad stuff. Fruit is also very appetizing. Watermelon, cherries, grapes....anything with a high water content. But I cannot survive on fruit and salami. OR can I? Pasta salads are looking up on the menu and I have been scouring pinterest for new recipes as I am sick of everything!

Clothing: Ah...yes. We have reached the part of the process where everything is strangling me, but I am holding out on pulling out the maternity wear. I know I am going to have to update the wardrobe because all of my stuff with Emma was spring time and we are heading into the dead of summer and fall is just as bad as summer here so I need to add to the clothing. Any suggestions would be helpful!

Movement: I think I may be feeling some movement. Little tapping, or like fluttering paper down low in my abdomen. We shall see if it continues. I have felt it for a couple of weeks now and am pretty sure it's baby.

Followed along with Emma? Let's take a trip down memory lane to 13 weeks with her!

A New Ride and a New Gig

The new baby isn't the only thing that is happening around here! Although it may seem that way, but hey this blog is from my point of view. For YEARS and I mean years the hubby has been bugging me to get a truck. My answer was always.....the gas mileage! We live in California where they use every excuse to tax all the things including the gas, so ours is usually way above average!

Well we moved into the mountains and we hit two snow storms where neither vehicle could go anywhere and he pressed me harder. We need a 4x4 and I need something that I can transport all the "garbage" from our backyard to the dump with. Still not convincing enough for me, but I entertained the idea of getting a used truck. Who needs to spend $50k on a vehicle? No me, Miss Frugal Franny!

He searched and searched all the websites and came across a Black Ram 1500 that he was interested in. I hate black vehicles, but it's not mine right? When we bought our SUV he was adamant that it was going to be black, but I convinced him that grey is better. The same thing occurred when he bought his Mustang back in 2004. I like grey cars. They show less dirt...in my opinion. So we walk onto the lot to look at this black truck and sitting right nest to it is a dark grey 1500 Big Horn with dual exhaust and all the bells and whistles. Of course I like that truck, but I am not going to say anything because it of course costs more. We look at both trucks and I see that he keeps going to the grey one and sitting in it and opening all the things....and that's the only one we test drive. Done Deal. Signed, Sealed, Delivered. He is ecstatic! It needs running boards and we need a tow ball, but it's got all the things he needs.....and its pretty. LOL

We get it home, and after a couple of days he turns to me and says, "You know the last three times I went to get a car I wanted black and I left with Dark Grey!" I looked at him and said, "You know where your mistake there is?" "Yea! Bringing you! HAHA" True story! But he is happy and glad he picked the better truck, even though it wasn't the color he wanted.

In other hubby news. He got a new job! Once he starts training I will fill you all in on the details! We are so excited for him! He will be doing something that he LOVES!
